NEW DELHI: Stock markets on Thursday once again opened on a flat note, as has been the trading trend for the last couple of sessions. However, and stayed firm above the respective key marks of 34,400 and 10,600.
30-share BSE Sensex gained 38.41 points to open on 34,471.48 while the broader 50-share NSE Nifty opened on 10,641.25, up by 9.05 points. By 9.40 am, both the benchmark indices had slipped into the red zone.
Apart from the Nifty IT sub-index, all other sectoral indicators were making losses with pharma stocks taking most of the hit.
