NEW DELHI: Equity markets kept the bull run going on Friday as both and edged up a further 0.30 per cent to hit closing highs yet again.
30-share BSE Sensex gained 88.90 points to close on 34,592.39 and the broader 50-share NSE Nifty finished on 10,681.25, up by 30.05 points. Both the indices hit fresh all-time highs in the intra-day trade.
Investors can take heart from the fact that despite a slump in mid-day trade, which saw Sensex slipping 150 points, the Street got back to the high levels.
Among sectoral sub-indices, FMCG and pharma stocks took a beating while metal, bank and financial service stocks firmed up.
ICICI Bank, Maruti, ONGC and were the major gainers while , and lost the most.
